Frequently asked questions.

  • I offer two main types of appointments: custom tattoos, and flash (or pre-drawn) designs. For custom pieces you'll let me know what design you've got in mind and then I'll create something based on your ideas. For flash appointments, you can pick from my available pieces or we’ll start with a consultation where you'll be welcome to look through all of my available designs and ideas and we’ll collaborate to choose something unique. This works best in person! Flash consultations are where my glassware, botanical, and body compliations are put together!

  • I hope so! My main goal is to make stellar, dreamy, well done tattoos. I want to choose projects where I feel confident in, or am actively building skill in, the techniques required, am interested in the subject matter, and excited about the projected outcome. If I don’t choose you, it doesn’t mean your design is bad or undesirable, it likely just means that I’m focusing on another area of work currently. I don’t currently say yes to color projects.

  • You should be picking a tattoo artist who’s views and work align with your goals. My favorite focuses are subject matter revolving around body, home, nature, and identity, and some of my favorite pieces have been insects, antiques, homes, and abstract doodles.

I want you to walk away with a piece you can treasure and we can both be proud of, while also building an art portfolio that shows my interest and abilities. I strive to provide a safe space for clients to feel confident in voicing opinions, asking for changes and accommodations, and being themselves. I will never turn away clients based on gender identity, skin tone, sexual orientation, body type, etc.

  • I charge $175 per hour. I do my best to provide an accurate estimate based on the project's size, the amount of detail included, the level of shading the project requiress, and more, but the final cost will be variable and specifically based on the amount of time we spend tattooing. If the details of your design or tattoo are changed, that estimate may shift and I‘ll do my best to keep you updated on my expectations.

  • As of December 2025 I work primarily out my shop, Daisy Chain Tattoo, located in the Atwood neighborhood of Madison, WI. I occasionally also travel around for conventions and guest spots. You can find more info on any scheduled upcoming trips via my instagram page!

  • We continue to being conscientious about COVID and sickness in general. We do still require masks for the duration of your appointment, and I’ll be wearing one as well. Please reach out to reschedule your tattoo if you feel sick or under the weather, or if you’ve been exposed to infection in the days leading up to your appointment! I will not forfeit deposits for illness.

Keep in mind that healing a new tattoo relies on your immune system, and getting a new tattoo while you’re already dealing with or healing from something else can affect that process. (Plus, it kinda just sucks to get tattooed when you already don’t feel good.)
